Tracery bookworks - DÉIRDRE KELLY

Kelly has engaged in an intimate virtual dialogue with the lace-makers of Venice’s past, via privileged access to the historic Venetian lace collections, resulting in a series of works that manipulates cartography, using the aesthetic language of lace.

A number of bookworks, testify to this research; translations, interpretations and reiterations of the dynamics of looking at map and 'reading' lace.
